Anyone know anything about record players?
I'm interested in getting one. I'd prefer something with built in speakers and the ability to convert vinyl to mp3 for about $200 or less. Any suggestions?

I know you can't try and DJ style scratch on a regular record player. Not successfully anyhow.
Outside of that....I got nothing, sorry.

I bought a numark one a couple years back for $50 or so. It seems to work pretty well, although I never used the mp3 converting thing.

Re: Anyone know anything about record players?
I hear good and bad about those ion usb turntables. I guess it all depends on what quality you are looking for. The biggest limitations imo with those are the cartridge/stylus quality and phono preamp.
I have tried it once with a old pioneer deck I have, nice grado stylus into into a stereo receiver and out to video/audio capture software. The software actually had a vinyl to mp3 section and would separate tracks if there was enough silence between tracks. It also had a little bit of post mastering options but ultimately it became a tedious process trying to eq the recordning for the mp3. Also the software was not user friendly for multiple track naming.
I might have to look into the current usb ones out there. I know alot of the bigger name TT manufacturers have phono preamp / usb output now, i.e. stanton /numark but I am too busy and lazy to try vinyl to mp3 again. If anything, this one looks interesting with decent reviews:
