The second part is electric guitar with lots of overdrive from my IRT STUDIO directly into Logic 9. The first part doesn't sound too bad, but the electric part cyberman jizz. Any suggestions how to EQ them? Or shall I re-do the parts? I did have a heavier guitar sound for the rhythm and a lighter guitar for the solo, but I switched it up last minute.

Used my LP standard (BB2 bridge, classic '57 neck) randomly... I never use it. Acoustic is my Martin 00-15M
EDIT: I also had some acoustic going on with the electric, I might put it back in again.

Do you want production advice or engineering advice? Production wise -I would suggest making the drums less busy before the lead guitar comes in. In fact since they are so repetitive turn them down or it will drive someone nuts! If you change the drums then mix in some acoustic guitar in the first half which will give the song pulse. The lead guitar needs better note selection and sounds like the intonation is off a bit but that could be technique (you say you never use it).As for the sound - The rhythm guitar is ok as is. The lead could stand a little detuned chorus which will offset the notes that are a bit sharp. Good luck

I originally recorded acoustic in with the electric part, I could slip some back in there. The lead guitar notes I'm going to keep. The whole point was to play differently to how I would normally, and I'm normally VERY anal about how my guitaring sounds and creating interesting leads. Even down to the way I set up the IRT Studio and held the Martin. So I am happy to leave that there as a random one-take 'not my kinda thing' (if that makes sense?). Everything was deliberately recorded with minimal takes.
What do you think about trying some phaser or light flange on the lead guitar? I generally use a lot of chorus and want to be different from what I normally do. I played a Les Paul on this because I NEVER use a Les Paul. I like the idea about turning the drums down and let in some acoustic.
I mainly want engineering advice, although production suggestions are welcome!
Thanks dude for all feedback dude

I think the gainy tone sounds fine. Maybe low pass the leads at 12 kHz to get rid of some of the fizz.

the synth part seems to harmonically clash with the rhythm and lead. aside from that, the only advice I would have is that the lead seems to blend too much against the rhythm and to my ears it sounds like this is happening because they are very similar in the way they are dialed. Maybe taking the lead up in volume would help it stand out a little better.

Thanks dude. I kept bringing the lead down because it was very loud... I spent a lot of time trying to get that level right. I will go back and take the advice on. I had another keyboard part recorded I never used, there was less going on, I could use that.

The part starting at 1:05 is very congested. Try eq'ing the lead very different from the rhythm guitars, and pan the synth and guitars so that they're not on top of each other. I agree that the synth also sounds dissonant compared to the guitars. Which is cool if that was on purpose.

Nakedzen
Cheers!
I've panned the rhythm guitars, and right rhythm guitar drops out after the start of the rocky bit. The keys aren't ontop of eachother now. I've done a lot of EQing/ different mixes and I'm struggling to get a mix I am happy with. I will keep at it though.
