Last NAD for 2023 (updated with video)

Post by GuitarBilly »

Picked this up at Atomic Music today. They were asking 500 but I had a store credit so it was 350 out the door

Image

Really good sounding amp. Kind of like Marshall but slightly more modern.. I'll make a demo of it tomorrow.

Edit: video demo. No clean channel because who cares about clean channels

I tried to dial in a more modern tone that I usually get from my Marshalls. Less mids etc.

Added an SD1 as a boost at some points and also messed with the Low/High Speaker Damping switch.

Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:
Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

It's hard to explain, it has its own character. This amp is 100w on 2 KT88s so it has a lot of clarity and bottom end like a Hiwatt or Fryette. But it also has that Marshall midrange crunch.

I'm doing the New Years thing with the family tonight but I'll make some clips tomorrow.

Yeah it's a pretty cool amp. Very different than my usual rig, which is the point of having different amps.

Draelyc had a Studiotone. As you can see in the video, it was a smaller Koch than Bill's. If you watch both videos, you'll see that Billy's Koch is massive in comparison.

I think Drae was more concerned with string gauges than the size of his Koch.

I dig the sounds in the vid. :thu:

And yes, I've been to Atomic several times and it can be hard walking out empty handed.
