Wow, i was wondering if this was a joke thread or what the catch was. Its not april 1st either... :)

With overdriven tone how does it clean up with rollback of volume on guitar? That was a weakness of my peavey bandit amp wasn't great at even though can get good tone. I've found my Boss katana and tech 21 trademark 30 amps are somewhat better in that regard.

It doesn't clean up as well as a tube amp. I can get a cleanish tone out of the drive channel but I need to bring the guitar volume almost all the way down. And even then, it's not a great tone. It's usable in a pinch.
The clean channel sounds great though so it's easier to just switch channels.

I have this amp and I can vouch for how loud it is, and how surprisingly good the lead channel is. :thu:

I've seen alcest a few times and they've always used fender ss combos. Definitely works for their sound.

My first band had a silly practice song called Can of Smells. You do the math.

Sounds fantastic!

I'm curious, I see a few of these and a few Deluxe 112 Pluses for sale around the same price.

What's the difference between the Princeton and Deluxe?

It looks like the Deluxe has one more knob? :idk:

I think the main difference is Princeton is 65w and the Deluxe is 90w.

That's what it looks like to me. The extra knob is a mids knob for the clean channel.

Purely based on your clip, this seems like an excellent option for a grab and go practice combo. Hell, it sounds good enough to gig with.

I could easily gig this amp. I probably will do it sometime next year.

I can't imagine needing more power than the Princeton, it's crazy loud. The extra mid control for the clean channel is nice though. The clean channel on the Princeton is OK but I can see how a mid knob would help.

I have a friend who keeps one of these in his rehearsal space and whoever shows up to jam uses it. I've used it several times and yes, its loud as all hell to the point where its hard to control. By the time you're at 2 on the dial its already too loud.

If I'm not mistaken, these might be the amps used by Dread Zeppelin in the 90's. I'm pretty sure they used SS 1-12 Fender combos back then and I think this may have been the amp they used.

Radiohead used some SS Fenders in the 90's too. I wonder if this was one of them.

And yeah, it's pretty crazy how fast it gets loud

Fender Princeton 112 Plus.

It does not have a speaker out but I will make one for it. I am going to cut the speaker cable in half and solder a jack on the amp's and and a plug on the speaker's end. Then I can easily unplug the speaker and run the amp into a separate cab.
