Northeast jamband thread
Instead of hijacking other threads here is a space for raceu and I and anyone else interested to talk shop
Dopapod heady as fuck (Boston)
Goose… imo very mid. Was very into them 19-21 then they got annoying too popular and less good
Obviously phish are Vermont kings take what you will
Twiddle about to be on hiatus, get lots of hate but still type 2 with the best of them
The breakfast, NE kings almost all members in bigger headier bands
Lespecial is where it’s at. More jamband adjacent than a jamband but they are hetti af with the metal EDm fusion
Numerous other hands out there let’s talk about them

Re: Northeast jamband thread
I have nothing to contribute at this point but I'm interested to hear about jam bands in the DC or Baltimore area and maybe even Philly or Delaware.
I see myself getting into that scene eventually both as a player and as a listener.

Not sure about DC, Philadelphia definitely has a huge scene, disco biscuits and lotus are both from there and there’s a pretty avid local scene as well.
Baltimore definitely has a lot of stuff going on, and a good scene from what I hear. 8x10 is probably a venue to check out

Re: Northeast jamband thread
i wish everyone could experience a wednesday funk night here, any given week you could see any assortment of jam superstars jamming out some of the most epic jams ever, all a half a mile from my house at the local pub. more 20something hippie chicks than you could possibly bang. you guys gotta watch these jams, they are great. i take for granted having this literally in my back yard.
Re: Northeast jamband thread
these are the big ones from mine and surrounding towns
Re: Northeast jamband thread
Club D'elf. To be honest, one of my favorite jammy bands, favorite local bands, and favorite bands period. Boston based, play around NE and sometimes in NY. Mix of jazz, Gnawa and other world-music styles, rock, electronic, and all top notch players. Also some heavyweights in the industry/scene too. All the dudes have their own projects as well all worth mentioning in this thread. Medeski will sometimes join them (MMW also killer for sure and worth a listen). The drummer is in Neighbor, who are also worth mentioning in this thread. Rob Compa from Dopapod will sit in sometimes too.
A few gems and then a full set if you want to trance out:

Haven't heard of residual groove will have to scope them out. And those jams sound greart

Bro I love Club D'elf! they're operating on concepts from another universe
I was finding neighbor fans to be pretty annoying for a while, but I was finally able to catch them some months back and was pretty impressed. They played with the Jauntee who I believe are also mostly Boston based, although their guitar player lives out here. Also a killer band

My buddy used to send me clips of The Breakfast and Tim can freaking play. Not exactly my style but cool nonetheless.

The Breakfast fucks
Tim is also in Lotus now. I've always liked them, but the lead guitar work and jams are definitely a lot more exciting and peak properly since he's been in the band

Is deep banana blackout still active? They're legit

they still play, i dont know if they tour anymore. this is from the other night actually, they do "funksgiving" every weds before thanksgiving. this is the "big" club we have in our downtown that bigger bands play which usually ends in jams later on at the smaller clubs afterwards. i should have went to this but i went to the other show i posted sat instead, its cool to be able to watch this though with superb sound and video

Oh hell yeah. Super cool to see folks know D'elf outside of Boston. Like I said, one of my all time favorite bands.
I know someone else who had similar feelings about Neighbor. Not familiar with The Jauntee though, I'll check them out.
