New Depeche Mode
Not sure how many on here follow DM, but this new track already sounds better than their previous few albums.
Martin looks like hell in the video and from recent pictures, looks like a burn victim. Not sure what the fuck happened there other than poor genetics.

I kept waiting for something to kick in, a chorus of some kind or a memorable vocal melody.

Yeah, it's very melancholy, but I think the whole "hook of the chorus" centers around the pattern "heaven's dreaming..." to push the song forward. Seems like a Martin Gore tactic to kick the can down the road when you know you have a hook, but no substance.
