So I’m a pretty big Machine Head fan. I like about 90% of their stuff (couldn’t do Catharsis). I know there was a pretty big lineup change and apparently some musical changes too. I never thought I’d use the phrase “haunting vocal melodies” and Machine Head in the same sentence. But here we are. I really dig this track in particular. Of course there’s some straight up heavier and thrasher stuff on the record. But this track is a standout for me.

I dig it. I like the descending bridge riff and the vocals, while being a little too affected; are running a good melody. I like some of the most "reviled" eras of MH (Burning Red, anyone lol?) Flynn is usually his own worst enemy. That aside; he can write a song.

Meh, sounds more like the Machine Head that I stopped listening to.
They've been so hit or miss than Megadeth over the years, that I've given up on them.

Yeah I’m actually a big fan of the Burning Red myself. Supercharger, not so much but it does have some moments. I’ve been a fan of just about everything from TTAOE onward, except Catharsis. Just couldn’t get into that one at all.

That’s a valid criticism. I may not agree with it but it is valid.

I'm with you on The Burning Red. I like that record. Well, most of that record. Can't stomach From This Day, and never could.
The Blackening was a masterpiece. TTAOE was really good. Bloodstone was...eh, okay, I guess, and Locust had its moments. Catharsis was a dumpster fire. Unlistenable.
As I told Raf the other night, this new record isn't The Blackening, but it isn't Catharsis, either. I dig a lot of it. Bloodshot is really good. I honestly hear a lot of Vogg's influence on a few parts of it.

Yeah it’s definitely way better than Catharsis. I definitely don’t think it’s on the level of the Blackening. That album was as close to perfection as MH got.
I do like this one a lot. I’ve listened to it a few times and keep dining back for more. I’m not familiar with Vogg’s previous works so I’ll have to check it out.
