what pedals

Post by clipless bumper »

been on a bluegrass/folk/country kick lately - recently diving into some Billy Strings - phenomenal!

anyway - the first part is just a great cover of this song by the young man - but wait for the solo.

what does it take to get this sounds or of an acoustic?
compressor + od/distortion??

I dig it - mad talent - what do you think.

Its takes a pickup. I would start the and see what he uses. Sounds great. Also check out Monte Montgomery for some great acoustic/ electric tones

there is just no attack though, and it's so 'organ-like'. never gotten anything like that out of an acoustic.

edit - actually - violin-like

Sounds like some sort of drive effect that either uses an expression pedal or he's somehow using an expression or wah. Or maybe it's a volume pedal and he's blending in the dirt.

a lot of compression can roll off the attack .
