Founder of the Newport jazz and folk festivals. Through those two annual events he pretty much invented the music festival as we know it today. He was a good man that loved music and helped expose America and the world to jazz and the many black musicians that played it.

Jazz on a Summer's Day - The 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. The film was released in 1959 and I saw it for the first time on PPS last year.
