I can see it. I prefer MoP but I love me some Peace Sells. When I worked retail, Good Morning/Black Friday was the song I’d jam before going to work on Black Friday. Also, Devil’s Island, the title track, Conjuring, Wake Up Dead and My Last Words all fuck.

I can't say I really disagree. Certainly not on pickups.

For pedals I have a couple that perhaps some people may call boutique? (Bogner preamp pedals), but really for what they do they were very affordable, so I wouldn't really call them "Boutique". if I have no volume constraints, I just use my amp, if I do have volume constraints and want a hot rodded Marshall sound I use the La Grange, and if I'm aiming a bit more midgain I use the Ecstasy Blue.

But for pickups, all the music I like was recorded with basically stock pickups, Duncans, Dimarzios or EMGs.

I’ve dipped my toes into the booteek pickup waters a bit. I’ve got a MCP Detroiter on the way this week (used, because I don’t feel like waiting 3-4 months without any communication) and I’ve used some other MCP and BKP stuff. It’s funny because with any of my super strats, they’re basically all Duncan or DiMarzio, the exception being my model 4 that has stock Jackson pickups. My LPs on the other hand are where most of the changes happen. Not to say I don’t have stock things there. My 85 LP has its original Shaws. My 94 Studio has been back with the 490R/498T combo for a while now. I had EMGs in it but grew tired of them. My R7 got the Mules and those were an improvement over the BurstBuckers. I put MCP Ange Dusts in my H-150. Long wait time but I got what I wanted and I like them more than the Schallers it came with. My 157 has always had some kind of Duncan, but I’m curious to try something different than the 59/Custom combo I’ve been running for a while. It’s not a bad sounding combo at all but a switch may be nice. Hence the Detroiter.

As you can see I don’t discriminate against differing pickup manufacturers. Variety is just fun sometimes. Not to say Duncan, DiMarzio and the like don’t offer a variety. They certainly do. And if the Detroiter doesn’t fly in this LP I can make my money back and maybe just buy a set of DiMarzio PAF 59s or 36th Anni’s.

Macaroni; I think it was you earlier in thread...?

Heard a Fight song the other day. Nailed to the Gun iirc? What an absolute WASTE of Halford. Grunt the song title 4x=chorus. Guitar tone and riffs that are about as sterile and dumb sounding as you can get? Check. What a horrible band :cop:  Now the Halford solo stuff (non-Two of course :freak: ); that was great

Srsly; what is there to like? Crap aggro vocals from someone who is a LEGEND trying his best to do a 12th rate Pantera impression overall. Horrid guitar tone and boring songwriting?

Some of the Halford solo stuff was quite good, Resurrection I believe. My thoughts are more a commentary on how “meh” 80s Priest is compared to their 70s stuff.

I would also say that Fight sounds sort of derivative now, but at the time that was reasonably fresh. And a good vehicle for Scott Travis to work.

Scorpions’ best albums are from the ‘70s. Everything after Uli Jon Roth left the band just pales in comparison.

Death metal/aggressive vocals are actually awesome, because they’re the most appropriate within context to the music and lyrics.

Warrel Dane was the best melodic heavy metal vocalist. I am perplexed as to why so many people dislike his voice.

Journey is one of the worst bands ever (Sorry, Baba!).

Van Halen 3 is a great album, even better than the Hagar albums. Only the last song with Eddie singing sucks.

Sepultura’s last 3 albums are just as good as the classic albums. Also, Eloy is a far better drummer than Igor.

Sepultura's "Arise" is the best thrash album ever recorded.
